I thought I'd post as I don't often, but wanted to share a positive story of our experiences so far for anyone who is starting out on this journey.
My husband was diagnosed with a frontal lobe GMB wild card, methylated tumour in May 2023.What followed was a couple of weeks of steroids and eating us out of house and home, then an op, radiotherapy and starting chemo in October 2023.
Unusually he still on chemo although likely to complete it after the maximum 24cycles ,he going to reapply for his driving licence.
But through out this he has remained well, pain free and without side effects from the chemo.
He works full time and is probably fitter than he ever was was, I said I didn't want to give him lifts everywhere so he has an electric bike to get about.
His last MRI was good and better than previous with no current signs of recurrance.
I understand that there are no guarantees with this disease but I just wanted to share a positive story with the group.
Take care everyone, enjoy the sunshine we are heading to a walking holiday in Devon.
Lovely to hear from you, Slh. Glad to hear that things are going so well. Long may it continue.
love n hugs

It is fantastic to hear that your husband is doing so well. I have had little to no side effects from the 6wks radio/chemo plus 4 courses of adjunctive chemo so far. May l ask if your husbands resection surgery was a total or a near total? From reading in various places and forums it seems that total resections have better/longer outcomes than near totals. Which I suppose is what you would expect really.
Good news. My 39 year old daughter has started standard care. She is suffering with anxiety and so depressed with it all. Its breaking me see her like this. Please say there is hope. I pray every day. Best wishes to you and hubby. Xxxxxx
Yes theres hope! Ive noticed a lot of stories here are less positive and it varies from person to person but Im now 15 months post diagnosis and im fine. Of course it does play on my mind however I work full time, still indulge in my hobbies and im going on holiday again in October. Good luck to your daughter
Thankyou. I need positivity. Im trying to stay strong for her but weak inside. Good luck and god bless to you. Xxxx
Thinking of your daughter and you and your family. I hope you are all getting support. The oncology nurses can help to direct you if you need to know where to get support. It's so very difficult seeing a loved one go through this x
