Hello everyone,
It’s Megan here from the Community team, I hope you don’t mind me posting here today.
I’m here to let you know that we will be making some changes to the group next week. Following feedback received from the Community, we are developing the group to have three sections:
The sections have been designed to make the group more welcoming and help members find the information and support they’re looking for.
Please don’t worry, as you will still be able to start and reply to discussions whilst the changes are being made.
If you have any questions or comments about the new group structure, we would love to hear from you by email at community@macmillan.org.uk or you can ask for help using the site in the Help group here.
Thank you for your support in developing the Community so it can be the best possible place for peer-to-peer cancer support.
Kindest Regards
Megan

I wish I could go straight to the latest messages in some threads that have been running for ages. There's no reason to start a new one, but it is tedious to keep paging through. Please, will you fix this?
I'll judge the further changes when they're visible, but there have been some changes over the last few months and we do seem to have lost some contributors. User experience is the point of the forum, I guess...

Hello Cecren
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I'm really sorry that it's currently not so easy to navigate straight to the latest replies in a thread. I appreciate that must be really frustrating. This was one of the improvements we mentioned in our update on the Community here. I'm afraid we're still waiting for that improvement to be made, but it shouldn't be too much longer.
In the meantime, thank you very much for your patience. I wondered if you knew that there is sometimes a workaround? If you can see a time stamp of the latest post (e.g. '8 days ago'- see below) then if you click on those words, rather than 'latest' then you will be taken to the last page of the thread.
It looks a little different on a mobile, but you can still click on the timestamp when you see it to be taken to the last page.
I hope that makes sense, but please do let us know if you'd like some more help with that.
With regards to the changes, the sections are now set up within this group, so you'll be able to see what that looks like. Please don't worry that a couple of the sections are currently looking empty, I will be moving some posts over shortly.
I hope you will like the new structure and please do let us know your thoughts. We expect to see some benefits to new members in providing a dedicated space for them to introduce themselves. Existing members should be able to more easily find discussions around diagnosis and treatment, whilst enjoying a space to continue longer chats and discuss every day life, and give and get support.
You'll still be able to start a discussion in the same way, but there will be an option of three areas in which to post. Replies will work in exactly the same way. Please don't worry too much if you're ever not sure which section best fits your post, the new structure is not intended to restrict conversations in any way. For example, you are still very welcome still chat in the diagnosis and treatment section if the discussion results in a longer conversation.
We're constantly working on the user experience on the site, as making the Community the best place for peer-to-peer cancer support is at the heart of everything we do. We are continually listening to feedback and making changes to the site which will improve the experience for all our members and make sure everyone can access the right support for them, when they need it.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and please do let us know if you have any further feedback, questions, or need support.
You can email the team at community@macmillan.org.uk or live webchat (please click and choose the Community option at the bottom of the list to chat live with the team between 9-5, Mon-Fri).
Best wishes,
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
