Hi
Have been diagnosed and starting treatment after Boxing Day they are using R-CHOP treatment my cancer is in my stomach and spread to the chest they tell me that is quite common with this form of F Lymphoma
They tell me my first chemo session will last between 6 and 7 hrs and I will be stopping in hospital for at least overnight then I will have Chemo as an outpatient in three 3 week cycles
Just wondered if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect I know the hair loss etc just wondered how I will be feeling in the days after treatment
Any useful information for me and my wife we would be grateful
Good luck Peter, hope all goes well
Nicky thanks and all the very best for you
Well its here Tuesday D day, hope you get the result you want and we all wish for you, will watch for your update
John
we all know this is a roller coaster ride, where we ride blind, never knowing where the highs and lows are
Well I'm here with everything crossed.......
Good luck everybody
Well not quite as planned Maintenance treatment canceled PET CT Scan being booked a 2 hr journey to Cambridge for that
I still have shadow areas in my chest and stomach that could be tumours or just scar tissue, If tumours then maybe more chemo or perhaps radiotherapy
Was a bit down after hearing that news but on we go,
Got my head round it now after walking doggies could have been a lot worse, and as my consultant said better be safe than sorry
Good luck all
Fred, a few additional bends in the rollercoaster?but as always, expect the unexpected - good and bad..... but plan c,d,e...... are in the tool box.
Mind you, I have been on the CT table, had the scan in readiness for a lung biopsy and was told to go away as it was not a problem. Looking for the same for you,
Hello Fred,
To me it sounds like they want to go the extra mile and so they should, I am sure its for the best.
My appointment today was a bit mixed as well, new doctor (not keen on him one bit, a bit aggressive for me). Raised a few issues re swelling up around hips and legs which I think is water retention, but he was a bit to fast on the dismissive always interrupting. I have a short session on Friday, forgot exactly what as its not chemo anyway, then the following Friday I'm in overnight as it will take a long time I'm told.
Keep well my friend and enjoy your dogs
Hi Peter
Sorry to hear your new doctor is a bit aggressive and dismissive and good luck with all your going through
I'm on a bit of a downer this evening, maybe because it's the first downward bit of the roller coaster ride as Mike calls it
My wife as said that it's B rather than A on the tests life set us and it's good they want to check things and be sure they are setting the right course, she's right of course but I had built myself up for a really positive "it's all clear" maybe it is and it will just be scar tissue
Obviously the treatment has worked mostly as most of the tumours (if not all) have melted away just a couple of problems and as the doctor said they are small and could be just scar tissue the PET Scan will reveal all
So I need to kick myself up the backside and get back on track
Do enjoy getting out walking with the dogs
Good luck all
