Hi

Have been diagnosed and starting treatment after Boxing Day they are using R-CHOP treatment my cancer is in my stomach and spread to the chest they tell me that is quite common with this form of F Lymphoma

They tell me my first chemo session will last between 6 and 7 hrs and I will be stopping in hospital for at least overnight then I will have Chemo as an outpatient in three 3 week cycles

Just wondered if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect I know the hair loss etc just wondered how I will be feeling in the days after treatment

Any useful information for me and my wife we would be grateful

  • Congratulations, Nicky!   You've been an inspiration, especially working so hard throughout.  Hope your scan is clear amd everything stays nicely in remission.

It's a kind of half hearted bank holiday in Scotland and the current arctic blasts mean only the hardiest souls head for our lovely beaches.  No snow yet though....

Looks nice from way down south Mike, Personally I dislike snow, having to help my dad when I was a child dig out his car every morning. nowadays when we get an 1/8th of an inch everything grinds to a halt.

  • Lol Peter, it’s a standing joke in our family for a few years.

Youngest daughter stayed in the West Midlands for a few years after they got married and she could not believe the ‘panic’ a 1/2in of snow would bring.

Now moved back up to the Highlands, her husband and our granddaughter are living the dream. Yes we are well set up for most things that come along, but just took the winter tyres off my car a few weeks back.....grrr

There is something magical about Highland winters, we back onto a forest and if we walk all the way through it we arrive at Culloden Battlefield  Pensive

During the hard frosts all the tall trees are pure white and the air has a invigorating edge to it...... but snow in May - it’s not on.

    Best of luck Clerker!

You just get the antibody this round?  I think my treatment is to get both the chemo (bendamustine) and the antibody (rituximab) once a month for six months.  Is the Canadian model maybe slightly different than the UK model?  Lots of you guys are talking about at PT scan at six months, I am pretty sure I get a CT scan at 4 months.  Having said that, I have no idea if a clear scan at 4 months would shorten my treatment.  I will have to ask a few more questions of my oncologist!

    Thanks for all the info.

    Hi Wayne,

once you finish your combination treatment of bendamustine and rituximab, you will almost certainly then move onto the 2 year maintenance treatment which is just the rituximab.

i had a scan midway through my 6 cycles of chemo, and then again was the big one at the end of the 6 months.
