Hi

Have been diagnosed and starting treatment after Boxing Day they are using R-CHOP treatment my cancer is in my stomach and spread to the chest they tell me that is quite common with this form of F Lymphoma

They tell me my first chemo session will last between 6 and 7 hrs and I will be stopping in hospital for at least overnight then I will have Chemo as an outpatient in three 3 week cycles

Just wondered if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect I know the hair loss etc just wondered how I will be feeling in the days after treatment

Any useful information for me and my wife we would be grateful

    Hello Fred,

Now I'm getting jealous lol,  "just a jab every 2 months", mines 2-3 hours, with the travelling, its a 5-6 hour trip for me.

    Hey,

yeah, me too. I wish they could do Obinutuzumab by a jab rather than a 5 hour IV

    Hi boys

Well add on a 2hr round trip so maybe 3hrs with waiting time

Still better than the 7hr plus travel for the chemo

    Good luck boys

    Hi,

the pharmaceutical companies rely on their patents not expiring for profits so just when the patent is up for IV obitinimuzumab they’ll the release a jab version of it.

they could do it now but they make more money waiting until the last minute so no one else can copy it.

its a shame for the patients, but it’s the way the world works.

Healthcare is unfortunately driven by profits rather than patients and I’m in the industry so know exactly what the situation is.

The side effects are kicking in today, fatigue, headache, Stomach pain, roll on a week or so, at least I've had my 6 cycles and can look forward to just the maintenance cycles without the side effects

Good luck everybody and thanks all for supporting me on the journey, hopefully hear some good news on your treatments as you progress and for those ahead of me please keep updating

    Hi Clecker,

please do - and it’s usual to be apprehensive for the first cycle. I was very nervous regarding things like reactions etc, but it all went smoothly and the nurses will be there for you should anything happen (which it won’t I’m sure).

any side effects you get and are not sure if it’s normal then let us know and I can certainly share my experiences

    regards
