Hi

Have been diagnosed and starting treatment after Boxing Day they are using R-CHOP treatment my cancer is in my stomach and spread to the chest they tell me that is quite common with this form of F Lymphoma

They tell me my first chemo session will last between 6 and 7 hrs and I will be stopping in hospital for at least overnight then I will have Chemo as an outpatient in three 3 week cycles

Just wondered if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect I know the hair loss etc just wondered how I will be feeling in the days after treatment

Any useful information for me and my wife we would be grateful

    Hi Mike,

Yes! I looked over your link and for most of the people with lymphoma they seem to be suggesting vaccination now, whereas it seems we are getting the opposite advice. I can see the logic both ways (yes, if we get COVID19 our symptoms could be worse, and yes if we get the vaccine the effectiveness could be less). I'm not too worried, but like lots of you, I'm pretty much keeping in my social bubble and wear masks in all indoor spaces. I'm determined that 2021 will be a better year.

    Hang in there, everyone.

I have my last maintenance treatment this month, I had my covid jab beginning of Feb

I did ask my consultant if I should have the jab and he was very insistent that I should asked him about the effectiveness of the jab whilst still having my cancer treatment he insisted that the maintenance would have lttle effect on the vaccination

    Good luck everyone

Well had my final maintenance treatment on Tuesday, not as planned though. I had a blood test on the Monday an it took three nurses and several attempts to get the blood  and when I went in Tuesday they wanted another blood test which went straight forward

Had my treatment and the Dr came to see me he examined me and as requested a scan ASAP he said he felt my spleen was enlarged but maybe that's just the way I am and  just wanted to be safe, so scan appointment is next Wednesday, so fingers crossed for the best

Hope everyone is OK and keeping well

  • All the best  Fred with  scan onwards and upwards Thumbsup

  • Yes let’s look to be all about nothing, I was told back n 2015 that my Spleen was just taking up space as it was not doing it’s job.

    Hi Fred,

Lets hope that it’s nothing but better to get it checked out.

    Keep us posted.

Scan done the radiographer was very good and said she could see nothing sinister, also said although the doctor who examined me said I looked to have an enlarged spleen she said it looks normal, she said the results would be sent to my team who will hopefully confirm every thing is looking good

Hope everybody is doing well and Happy Easter to all

  • Sound good to me  have as good an Easter as restrictions allow.
