Hi everyone, I’m sue and I live in Cornwall. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and have had radiation retinopathy since have brachytherapy. I’ve had numerous injections, laser, and lastly 2 victrectomies due to having constant bleeds from the start.
My last check up was 3 weeks ago and I was told I had a recurrence , cancer is back, and the only option for me was to remove the eye…..I’m scheduled for surgery a week on Tuesday at moorfields.
to say I was shocked was an understatement…I’m still in disbelief to be honest ….I’m very scared of loosing my eye although I know it’s the best thing to do and I am now blind in my eye so it’s working but I’m still scared.
feeling a little like I’m in some kind of dream and can’t quite believe it’s happening ….anyone out there had or going through the same thing ?

I'm sorry to read that you cancer has returned and it's natural to be worried about the upcoming treatment. AmBau posted a few months ago saying that her husband was about to have this surgery. I've 'tagged' her into my reply to you and hopefully she'll pop on and share his experience with you.
