Hello,   It’s now 6 weeks after my right eye plaque removal. Things feel reasonably good , I have a dark patch appearing in part of my eye but my sight is better than I thought it would be at this stage. I have a check in Sheffield Halamshire Hospital on the 27th this month . I will also be having twice yearly abdominal scans for 5 years. I have been told that I will be loosing my central vision eventually over a period of time. Fingers crossed now that the plaque treatment has worked, otherwise my eye would have to be removed.    The staff at Sheffield were fantastic and made me feel I was in safe hands.
Is anyone else going through this treatment, What are your feelings?

  • hello sty i have just been diagnosed with ocular melanoma. i am having surgery next week before having proton therapy next month. i am glad that you are doing ok.

i feel numb as if this is not really happening.

    i wish you well.

  • Hi thank you. I too felt quiet numb and it was a bit surreal. I can only suggest that you have as much support from family and friends as possible. But keep positive and try to take each step at a time .
    Good luck and best wishes.
