Hi ,

I’m Sammy. I had over cancer, treated in August 2018 with bracial plaque to good effect.

now it’s February 2024 and I am recently diagnosed with eye melanoma cancer in my liver. There are a couple of dots on the scans that can’t be properly seen and one lesion that’s 1cm big, so only just big enough to have been biopsies. They tell me lesion are low, medium or high volume. Low being like mine (so very early stages) and high being 9cm or bigger.

i have opted in to a randomised control trial but waiting to hear if I ham in the group that will have the new drug/s (daily tablets) or the control group that is offered standard care (an infusion).

I love my job and don’t want to give it up, would even hold on to part time. Does anyone have any ideas how feasible this is?

Thank you

x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
