Day 1 .. went well, with no hiccups.. given a shed load of drugs, so trying to make some sort of plan to get it all in order.
round 2 tomorrow..
Hi Beau Chapeau good to hear that her first hit went well.
Yes there is often a lot of drugs to take…… has she steroids to take yet?….. many people have problems with the cliff edge drop when coming off them…… I was actually told to taper them over a few days….. worth talking this through.
has a part 2 today, so hasn't started them yet, but she can enquire about them today.. thanks..

ok, part 2.. things went well.. until tea time, and pizza and coleslaw... I get it, some enjoyable food before the madness starts... well, it's started, and a lot sooner than either of us expected.. spent the best part of a hour on the loo.. came out looking like a ghost... took temp, all ok.. will check again when I go bed.. but it's time to play by the rules, or it will get messy..
oh, I hope it's ok to run the progress on here, as there seems to be a lack of 'been there, done it' info available, and I hope this might give some insight to others that have to tread this path.

Hi Beau Chapeau your update sounds rather normal as bowel issues are one of the regular treatment Side Effects.
Definitely ok to log her progress as there are often people who join and never post but look on for information.
The Lymphoma groups are rather different from the H&N group as once treatment is finished people do tend to move on from the site and get on with life…… but many folks do use the various Lymphoma Action - Support Platforms
coming to the end of the 'dip' week (week2) and major problems are tiredness and diarrhoea.. imodium has been suggested to get things under control..
feeling good in herself, so things are pretty positive..
and things should pick up next week ready for the 2nd cycle on the 9th
Oh, and the tennis ball that was once very visible on her neck has pretty much been reduced into nothing already.. positive signs are always a boost.

Hi Loz Beau Chapeau sounds like good progress.
Tiredness.... aka Fatigue is also a challenge but it is important to remember that the less she does the longer the recovery will be..... simple regular activity actually counteracts some of the fatigue.......
Yes I was advised to use imodium on a few occasions....... but the main thing she must be doing is aiming for that 2 liters of water a day as this is going to flush out her kindness and help with some of the diarrhoea and stop her getting dehydrated.
Hi Mike (Thehighlander)

start of week 3, and hair beginning to fall out, so a sponsored head shave is being arranged..It's going to happen so might as well own it..
and itching/light rash around torso, so going to try Aveeno, and keep an eye on progress and temps..

4 days into the 2nd cycle, and things are going very well ATM,, so fingers crossed for the 'dip' week next week...
Shaved my wife's head towards the end of last week to raise funds for Leicester Royal Infirmary Oncology Dept, and a portion for Macmillan, so she is really making the most of a poor situation.. has quickly learned to fold a very tidy head scarf, and she looks very elegant with it.
