Hello
I have a waxing and waning generalized lymphadenopathy from 1 year and i have no infections or auto-immune diseases. I did a biopsy but when the lymph node shrink.and they considarate it as begnin one. and no cause for the enlargment.
my question is : the waxing and waning of the lymph nodes over time frequently is a characteristic of cancer ? (something
like spesific for it?)
Hi and welcome to our corner of the Community, a Community that no one ever really plans to see themselves joining,
These bodies do make this living thing very challenging at times. Swollen glands (Lymphadenopathy) can indeed be a sign of a cancer and specifically a blood cancer like Lymphoma.
But as you are finding out this is not that straight forward as these can be the sign for many medical issues, some straight forward and some more complicated.
You say that you had a biopsy, was then sent for pathology?...... as this, along with a CT/PET scan is the main tools for Lymphoma diagnosis.
I was diagnosed in 1999 with a rare skin NHL and over the first years my Lymphatic System did wax and wane due to normal infections.
it was not until mid 2013 for a lymph node on my neck to react, it did not wax and wane, it just grew and grew to the size of a brick.
Honestly you need to keep working with your medical team to get answers.
Happy to talk more.
