Hello I recently underwent an stem cell transplant and despite hearing someone else's experience mine was something of a rude awakening.iwas admitted to hospital for conditioning chemo on 28 th October and am still here as we speak so many issues along the way, mucositis, colitis, mild flu a urine infection from who knows where I think I had only 1 solid bowel movement since the beginning of November it's been chronic diarrhoea for weeks but I think I am over the worst and fit to go as soon as my mobility and eating improves
Hi JohnT2 sorry to hear that your Stem Cell Transplant rollercoaster journey has been bumpy…… at times it can be a toss of a coin as to how things go…… on the whole the time I was in hospital during both my Allo SCTs was ok although I did land up in critical care during my second…… my challenges did not start until 10 months after.
Lets look for you to escape soon.
I also spent 2 weeks in ICU in a horrible airbed it was like trying to sleep on a tortoise s back . Never again
