I can hear you maybe thinking what !!! travel to HK with the corona virus epidemic !!!! Yea I know Disappointed

Has anyone with similar medical diagnosis and who have travelled abroad, be willing to share their experiences of obtaining medical travel insurance please ?

many thanks Santi concerned mum

  • Hi

I hope you don't mind me butting in, as I'm not a member of this group, but I noticed your question about your son travelling to Hong Kong and needing travel insurance.

Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to find travel insurance when you have had a cancer diagnosis so could I suggest that you come and join us over in the travel insurance group where you'll find lots of recommendations for travel insurance.

To join just click on the link I've created and once you've done that look for the thread called 'Member's Stories' as it's where the majority of recommendations from other forum members are. Depending on what type of device you're using this thread will either be on the right-hand side or at the bottom.

It is best to phone the insurance companies rather than try and do online quotes as sometimes they can refer to the underwriters to see if they would cover you when an online quote might just give you a straight refusal.

Make sure you have all the information to hand about your son's diagnosis and treatment before phoning. This is a list of some of the things a travel insurance provider might want to know.

  • Do follow up on the links that my friend  has put up.

I would have thought that if he is travelling as part of his work that his employer should be supplying all the required insurances unless he is self employed.

    Hi Latchbrook

Thank you for the follow up and asking how my son and I got on with finding medical travel insurance.

My son has sorted the insurance out him self and I’m sorry but I don’t know the details of the insurance company etc.

    Warm Regards Santi

  • I'm pleased to hear that :)
