Hi there, Our 19 year old son was diagnosed with CML on 17th May 2021. Like most, his diagnosis has devastated us. He is still in hospital but has started on Dasatinib and is having Hydroxycarbonate (please excuse me for the spellings!) to help bring his white cells down. I’m really just looking for advice and support with some of the questions and thoughts I have. I’ve been told not to Google but stupidly have!! It’s all so scary right now, and I’m hoping that you can offer some words of advice with all the emotions I’m going through. Thank you.

I am Mike Thehighlander and so help out around our blood cancer groups. I don’t have CML but was diagnosed with a rare, incurable and hard to treat Skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so have experienced a lot of the various treatments used but let’s look for the CML group members to pick up on your post and help you out.
I have been on my journey for over 22 years now and I can truly say that Google can be a very unhelpful place giving you a 1000 answers and none being correct.
