Hi, I've joined the group as my granddaughter's partner has just been diagnosed with CML at the age of 26 and I want to learn more about it so as to help support them both .As you can imagine we are still in shock over this. He has just started on chemo medication and is having lots of side affects. Are there any younger sufferers out there who can let me know their experience of it?

Thanks in advance. x

  • Hi and welcome but so sorry to see why you have found the community.

I had a different type of blood cancer but do understand the challenges of going through chemo - do you know the name of the chemo that is being used?

Lets see if any of the CML folks are looking in.

Thanks for your reply Mike, I have read your story which is astonishing! As a family we have already lived through our daughter being diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma a few years ago. She has been in remission now for the last 3 years after intensive chemo for a couple of years thank goodness. I don't know yet what chemo my granddaughter's partner is having but know he is suffering a lot of side effects. I need to learn a lot more about his type of leukaemia. Happy New year to you.
