Omg this is a bit rough
I have been given instagel to ease it but can't bring myself to even touch down below to use it as I feel a bit fragile. Does this go once treatment is finished? Also I'm worried how the brachy(beginning 24/03) will worsen the effects of this cystitis.
Help
Angela xx
It’s so tough going through treatment Angela-mentally and physically. Times I thought it was never going to be over and had to force myself to go. I had a lot of pain before I started treatment so didn’t feel great to start with, but I felt I recovered pretty quickly after it was done. You can see that finish line now, and I hope this coming week goes smoothly for you.

Wow Angela! That has gone so fast! I hope you get the confusion sorted out tomorrow but either way, you are so so close. I was feeling that I couldn't eat very well towards the end. In fact at one point the only things I fancied were toast and jacket potato. That was almost exclusively my diet, although I never went off fruit. Veggies made me run horribly and I'm just now able to drink coffee again. The finish line is so close now Angela and you've done amazingly well. Good luck for the week ahead xxx
Yeah Julie I'm not eating great and also can't drink coffee..which is weird coz I lived on it previously lol. I hope the end is closer than it seems on paper! On my plan there's 31 radio! But both letters from consultant clearly say 28? Anyways il post tomorrow if I get any news or if not then I see my consultant every Tuesday before chemo.and she'll certainly know. Thanks again guys xx
Hi Jen, thanks yes feeling a lot better now, managed to shake off the cold I think. Isn't that strange about coffee, just bizarre!! How are you, hope you're ok and had a lovely weekend xxx
Yes please do let us know. They double booked me a couple of times and had to correct it when I pointed it out, so maybe it's something similar. The end is very close, you're now counting days instead of weeks and it will go very quickly and then you're out the other side!! Hope all goes well this week xxx
Hi Julie.
Yes so they said they'd booked 31 to take account of me missing 3 for brachytherapy. But my brachy not scheduled to start til iv finished radio so...my last radio is this Monday(21/03)..my last chemo is the Tue.. iv MRI on Wed and 1st Brachy on Thur..it's all going on this week but you're right it's days now rather than weeks. I'm so glad you've made it out the other side intact! It's a great inspirational story for those coming behind you...including myself! We can look back on our journeys and see the lows and highs and the soul destroying wait for answers and scans and just mayb someone will read the threads and have hope that there is an end to all this. I wish you well for the future and hope you pop in once in a while to show how well you're getting on.
One journey ends for a new one to begin xx
Hi Angela
I’m hoping that you and Julie will both stay and post for new ladies coming along-it will help so much for newly diagnosed ladies to see how things go during treatment etc. Show them how you’ve both coped and done so well!
I didn’t come and join until a few months ago-well after all my treatment-with the intention of hopefully being able to help others, and also be there for any ladies unlucky enough to have to face recurrence. I think all of our stories are invaluable for those coming after us.
Good luck with your final push for the last of your treatment!

Thankyou Sarah. I will most certainly be hanging around the forum for some time to come if I'm welcome lol. I'm so excited to be doing this final push( although still dreading brachy) but then again i dreaded radio and same(perhaps more) with chemo! But I got there! So what is 3 wee brachytherapies between friends lol . Finance people collecting my beloved car next week so thatl be a physical and direct loss due to not being able to work but I'm Gona save and buy a wee workhorse to do me for the time being..it's so good to feel positive! When you're already stressed waiting for results and treatment even the smallest thing can set you rite back, and it's hard to cope with anything but Onwards and Upwards.
Thanks again Sarah xx
I’m so sorry you are losing your car Angela-such a blow to your independence, but I love how you are able to look at a positive outcome of getting another one in time. It’s all about trying to look for the silver lining anywhere we can.
There are setbacks all along the way but it’s how we deal with them, and I always imagine you with a smile on your face!
I hope not to lose any of you lovely ladies from this group, that’s for sure. Your advice, support and encouragement is just invaluable. When treatment ends it would be lovely if that were really the end, but then there are scans and checks, and the worry never goes, even when the cancer does. So this group I hope will always be a place for everyone to come back to and share how they feel, and know that we all understand.
Onwards and upwards is a great mantra!
