Abnormal smear

Wondering if anyone could shed some light as I’m new to this so recently had a baby 17 weeks ago. Had normal post birth bleeding a week break and then a period I went on to have the depo injection to prevent me getting pregnant to which I’ve bled for almost ten weeks continuously( spotting pink red to brown blood) then also been for smear this is my first one after my son I had it a bit earlier than 12 weeks (11weeks) and results have came back as hpv postive and low. Grade dyskarosis I think that’s how you spell it. And have to go to hospital for further investigation. Has anyone had the same or similar and share with me there story as I’m worried sick. With a newborn and a 3 year old it’s worrying times

Hi Loz92 welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about whats been happening for you and how worried that you are that will have taken the shine off your new baby and that's a shame.

The low Grade dyskarosis means that there are changes in the cervix that are occurring but are not Cancer. However, they will want to examine you to check out exactly what is going on and the HPV will likely need treatment but I don't know enough about that to answer with any certainty for you.

If you wanted to you could give the Nurses at Macmillan a call and have a chat with them as they may have information re the changes they have found that they could let you have to read for now. 08008080000.
