Hi to all here.
I had mastectomy and chemo in 2010 and in January 2022 was given the 19 year all clear.
I got covid in the Easter and very breathless which continued but I ignored it as we were in the process of selling the house and emigrating to Australia. My husband and two of my daughters moved to Australia in the august/ September and my third daughter had to cope with me and my diagnosis in the December.
it is in my lungs and caused a pleural effusion which I had a drain for. This was removed in Australia in 2023 when I had pleurodesis (talc) into lungs and this worked well.
xancer is also in my sternum and liver. I’m on abemaciclib and exomestane. Iced had the stomach issues (cramps, diarrhoea) but they do improve. Recently I’m really tired and worn out and have been suffering cramping and diarrhoea again so on a bland diet and buscopan and Imodium.
I feel for my family as I can’t work and they have to cope with me worried and unwell.
got more scans next week to check how treatment is going and I see the oncologist in around 3 weeks.
ifs kinda horrible isn’t it? We all wish we didn’t have to be here in this sort of situation…
Hi Mid emigration diagnosis and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
It sounds like you've been through a great deal and I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you being separated from your family while going through treatment.
I'm not a member of this group but just thought I'd pop by and say hello. I'm sure if you have any questions, or want other members to share their experiences with you, they'll be happy to help.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
