Hello everyone!

Well it's been 9 years since I was last on this forum and obviously hoped that I would not be returning! But here I am!

I had a bit of swelling and itching at my mastectomy site summer last year during Covid and didn't get it checked out until I noticed a lump just above the collarbone. Spurred on by panic and urgency I had biopsy and scan at Christmas and diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. neck, axilla, chest wall and lung. Oh my! I was naive in thinking that it wouldn.t come back in the same place. It's just no one ever checks that side.

I was immediately started on monthly injections of Faslodex and 21/28 days of oral Ibrance. Had some sickness and emergency poos! Metoclopramide for vomiting and new knickers for poo! Do not fart unnecessarily!

Found tremendous weakness in limbs, breathlessness, dizziness and numbness in my left arm and hand. Difficulty in memory, mobility and actually doing any task whatsoever! I used to run a pharmacy and a riding school! Haven't been able to do jack shit for 10 years. Must have been the 10cm goat growing in my left lung!

Well, on the bright side, the goat, now known as Gavin has reduced from 10cm to 7cm. I'm very pleased with him. He will be re-measured in October.

The other thing is B vitamins. Will keep posting on these as things seem to be improving.

Good luck to you all. Please feed back x Ansi

After all that what I really meant to ask is whether anyone else is on this combo of Faslodex monthly injections and oral Ibrance chemo tablets? I understand that Faslodex is quite new and not long come off clinical trials. I've had 8 cycles so far.

  • Hi there Ansi, I'm on similar meds, ibrance and letrozole. I'm on cycle 10 and I've tolerated them well. Subsequent scans have been stable, my mets are in spine and hip. Good luck with your treatment, this forum is a good source of support from others going through the same , take care
