hi

I was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with breast cancer cells in my lung fluid . It is incurable but there might be treatments to extend life expectancy or quality of life .
it’s all very new and I am hoping to find others who are going through a similar experience

and being part of a group as even with wonderful family support it feels lonely

looking forward to hearing from the rest of the group

  • Hi

I am sorry you have secondary breast cancer. It must be a difficult time for you as you adjust to this. You might want to add a bit of information about your cancer type and treatment plans to your profile, to save you repeating yourself. To do this just click on your name annd then follow the steps to edit your profile. Each type of breast cancer is treated differently and you might want to find people who are living with the same treatments. I was first diagnosed in 2022 and found I was metastatic a few months later, so I have been living with secondary breast cancer for 4 years. Mine is tnbc and my mets were in my liver. You can see my brief story on my profile.

Many of us live good lives despite our diagnosis and treatment. My recommendation would be to try to focus on what you can still do, and try not to get hung up on any things you find you can no longer do. Family support does make it easier but probably the best people to understand are those going through something similar.
