Hello all,
Just reaching out to this group because I need some support and advice.
I had early stage BC - ER+ HER2- back in 2013. I was successfully treated with a lumpectomy and RT , have been on Taxmoxifen for 7 years. Last January I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, which I am now NED after chemo and surgery, (not BRCA) I am taking Olaparib as a maintenance drug. I got pain in my ribs on the BC side in December, so my Doc arranged a bone scan as a precaution. It showed up 2 hotspots on my 6 and 8th rib, so I had a CT and Blood test CA 15-3 last week. I now have received a letter for a phone appointment with the Breast Unit oncology Doc at my hospital and dreading the worst. The pain has improved a lot since December, and also last week I had a clear routine mammogram which gave me hope. Has anyone else been or are in this position? what are the treatments, I just need something positive to cling to.
Hope you are all well,
Love Janet
thank you so much for your reply. Just have that horrid wait until next week for my phone call with breast unit . I suspect the first thing will be a biopsy. It's good to know there is others out there and different treatment options available.
Have a good weekend, having my covid vaccine on Sunday!
Love
Janet
