Hi all,
Im new to this forum, my name is lee, here's a little rundown of my journey
I was diagnosed in may 2020, had a lumpectomy and node clearence a few months after had a single mastectomy. Followed by chemo and radiotherapy.
Scans showed secondaries in 2022 on the liver and bones, more chemo!
2024 i had ovarian cysts so had to undergo a big operation to remove my overies,
2025 i then discovered a melanoma, had that was removed along with more lymph nodes, now thats clear!
I recently had more radiotherapy on a leasion on my spine that had caused a hole in the vertebrae, to help with pain.
im struggling a bit at the moment with everything, ive always been very positive but the last few months ive not been myself and I feel my husband is struggling with everything too, we are both pretty down at the moment, in turn thats affecting our children, they are grown up now but still at home, the atmosphere sometimes is unbearable, I dont know what to do to snap out of it!
Just felt the need to reach out here!
Thanks for reading
Lee.
Hi Lee sorry to hear all that you have gone through. It is not surprising that your husband and yourself feel down, it is so much to deal with. I also have secondary breast cancer with extensive bone mets. Had radiotherapy on one of the big ones on my spine to help with pain. Have you had any counselling or talked to anyone about how you are feeling. I had counselling that Macmillan organised for me and it did help. Sometimes just to offload to someone who is not personally involved feels like a great relief. Also Maggies centre offer the service in person or online. I am doing clinical hypnotherapy online with Penny Brohn (a cancer charity). It is once a week and it helps me to relax and they also do other courses. I try and be positive but sometimes like in the middle of the night I do worry what the future holds. My name is also Lee (Lisa really but never use it) I find that walking my dogs everyday helps me too. Sending you hugs.
Lee x
