PIP Delays

Having been diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumour in October it was also confirmed that it was a secondary breast cancer. I have sadly been unable to continue working and applied for PIP in February. Universal Credit was also applied for and has been confirmed with them that I am unfit to work any longer. I have not been issued with the dreaded DS1500 so that is a positive but am still waiting for my PIP to be worked. Has anyone else been waiting for over 3 months for them to consider an application and do you have any advice in these circumstances. Many Thanks

    Hi ericalouise

i would suggest you contact your local Citizens advice. I worked with them until recently and they have loads of experience in dealing with both PiP and UC. The DWP seem to take as long as they can get away with, so support from an advisor can help. You need the money now and have paid your taxes over the years; do not let them exploit you! The other alternative is the local MP who will have some influence. Fingers crossed tone1

    Hi

Try Macmillan Welfare Rights who tend to push things along, a DS1500 is only a piece of paper and fast-tracks red tape, I’ve known it used in people who have lived years as a professional completing this it is only guided by general statistics
