I don't visit this site much at the moment because I found that I was getting sucked into the bad news stories and it was making me feel very low. Anyway, as an alternative, I thought I would start a thread for positive secondary BC stories as I'm pretty sure we would all welcome them! Please feel free to add your own so that we can build a library to remind us of positivity when we are feeling that our bodies are against us! Positive stories only please. My first one is below the emojis.
Hi and Margaritt, I'm so pleased you've found the thread and that it's helping you. That's the goal! Keep it up and please add links to any positive stories that you find about new treatments, longevity etc.
Noswad1 so pleased you started this thread . Dealing with diagnosis is hard enough and reading bad stuff just takes you down although I totally get people are having tough times. Reading positive stories of treatment making a difference is so uplifting.and gives me hope.I want to concentrate on the good stuff in my life and keep going x
Thank you Noswad1 for starting this thread and to everybody who has contributed positive stories. I was only diagnosed last week and to say it's been a bolt from the blue is an understatement. Reading the stories here gives me hope, which is all I need right now.
It came as a complete shock to me too I had got to 5 years and thought I was doing well.Positive stories are what we really need right now to give us hope and determination to keep going . Once I have my plan I’ll hopefully be adding my positives to the thread.
Found this.. I am sure they were looking into this woodworm plants back in 2001
But they still are saying That it is killing breast cancer cells.. which is great news. Here is the link to have a read..
I think my story is pretty positive. I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in the sternum, after many scans it was concluded it was only in the sternum. To cut a long story short I underwent a sternectomy (removal of the sternum and replaced with concrete and wire) and my cancer has been successfully removed with good margins. Has anyone else gone through this operation? if so I would really like to connect and share (and share with anyone with secondaries isolated to the sternum).
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
