Hi. I have recently found out I have liver mets and I have started capecitabine.

My original diagnoses of breast cancer was in July 22. My scans last year were clear after a mastec And lymph node removal, chemo and radiotherapy.
I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar diagnosis and if so, how are you managing to get your head around it?

Thank you.

  • Hi, i am also class of 2022 and have metastatic TNBC.  I have  replied to your similar post on the breast cancer forum.

  • Hi there would you mind very much if I asked if your first diagnosis had spread to lymph nodes or not?

  • Hi. How are you?
My first diagnoses was in my lymph nodes. I had node removal about 4 weeks after my mastectomy.

  • Not in lymph nodes xxx

  • Mine wasn’t in my lymph nodes - vascular invasion instead.

  • Hi TCBH, My original diagnosis of breast cancer was July 21, had clear scans until now, I am waiting on an appointment with my oncologist to discuss recent scans as something has been flagged up on my liver, as you can imagine I am all over the place with anxiety, just wondering how you are and how treatment is going, hope you don’t mind me asking.

  • Hi Kate. I’m good. I started  capecitabine and my livers mets have halved in size after 3 cycles. How are you?

  • That’s great news, I am in limbo land at the moment, not having a diagnosis but everything pointing to liver mets ( in my mind ) I’ve had ultrasound, 2 CT scans and MRI scan yesterday, MDT meeting tomorrow afternoon so should know more tomorrow.

  • I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you x

  • Diagnosed December 22, treatment 23, lumpectomy and radiation.  Stage 1 low ER and PR breast cancer.  Clear margins, no node or vascular involvement.  Fast forward to January 24, first mammogram and all clear given.  Early April 24 full blown stage 4 mTNBC.   Sneaky cancer had mutated and moved to lung, axilla, chest wall etc etc.  been on Gemcarbo since 29th May,3 cycles. Lungs stable, rest of mets either disappeared or shrunk.   Looks promising.   I started off thinking Christmas was ambitious.
