Hello everyone

just joined.the group . Three years ago I was diagnosed with DCIS and had operation and in biopsy they didn’t find any cancerous cell so they suggest I shouldn’t take any further action apart from yearly checkup!

four months ago I diagnosed with Metastasis breast cancer gone to my bone ( not bone marrow) & lymph and slightly liver.

At beginning I was in agony with back pain and I was diagnosed

receptor-positive, HER2-negative  And my treatment is Ribocilib, Fulvestrant and denosumab.

did one session of radio because of my pain and the back pain is much better now.

i start feeling better and my second pet scan shows improvement with the treatment but last week my both legs start serve pain and they suggest I do pet scan again sooner then schedule .

recently getting depressed and start losing faith and was wondering if anyone here experienced similar situation?

Thanks

  • Hi Mitramin.  I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis.  I have same as you with mets in most bones.  I had one session of radiotherapy three weeks ago and my back is now starting to feel better.  I don't have pain in my legs and I wonder what is causing your pain.  I have also had a back brace fitted which I am supposed to wear every day to protect my spine.  I hope you get some answers about your leg pain, when are you having another CT scan?  Please let us know how you get on.

  • Hello

    sorry about yours too.

i will know exact date on Monday .are you going through targeted hormonal therapy as well?
I was feeling better too and the pain was very less but legs is really painful and my doctor can not guess why that is and that is why she asked me to do pet again.

  • Hi, I was diagnosed this year with SBC mets to liver, spine, lungs and lymph nodes. DC, Hormone positive, HER  negative3 years ago.  I'm on pacltaxel chemo.

I didn't realise DCIS could spread as never known anyone that it's happened to. It must have been a huge shock.Good that your beginning to feel better and showing improvement. Not so good leg pain but better they investigate.

I had scan results this week but I've to have further investigation by MRI for inconclusive liver scan. It's worrying, it feels like one thing after another. I've been feeling upset too, not only with further investigation but with a load of other cancer related issues(Waiting/ info etc)

Hope you get a pet scan soon and the news is good(as it can be)

  • Sorry to hear your situation Cold sweat

yes it’s annoying because it wasn’t cancer in the first place and I feel it’s my doctor fault because he took it very lightly.
as you said the waiting is very scary and uncertainty.do you have pain as well?

please update your result and I will update my pet .

  • Hi Stripeycat, I just wanted to say that I also had an inconclusive ct scan a few months ago on my liver , report said my tumour had progressed but structure had changed recommending mri. I had to wait 3 months and was worried sick but it was fine. Tumour was the same as the previous ct scan and one of the tumours they’d been measuring was a cyst! So, I have a liver mri every time now for accuracy and body ct scan. Thankfully, I’m still stable. Hope this puts your mind at rest a little. Xx

  • Hi Mitra, I don't have much pain,(touch wood) have had pain more earlier in diagnosis. Now have odd mild pain various parts of body and think maybe chemo side effect. I remember have odd pains 3 years ago after chemo. My issues are more digestive. I don't know if caused by cancer, treatment or maybe something else(eg  acid reflux. I'll post mri scan result when I get scan/ results.

  • Hi Sammyharry

Thanks for your reassuring post. I was advised nothing had increased in size and bloods are in normal range, so fingers crossed. What a wait for you to have mri and results though. Great news you're stable.

  • Thank you Heart️ That’s good to hear and I’m sure it’ll be fine for you. I’m just glad they’re doing mri in my liver now instead of ct. I don’t want to go through the stress of not knowing again for 3 months! The nurse said I don’t think they’d leave it that long if they were concerned but your mind works overtime as we all know! Xx

  • Hello all

It's now been decided that I don't need a liver MRI scan as it's been reconsidered and that the tumour change is due to a partial response. So, I am to continue on with pacltaxel chemo. 3 mthly CT scan should be in October.

Mitra  how is the pain in your legs and did you get your pet scan?

  • Good luck! Hope you’re ok. So what do they mean by partial response , I might sound thick but why continue with the same drug if not fully working? If that’s what it means. XxHeart
