Faslodex and Ibrance have stopped working after only ten months. Now moving onto Capecitabine (spelling?) what are peoples experiences of this chemotherapy?

  • Hi

I am about to start my second cycle of capecitabine (2 weeks twice daily tablets and one week off) and for me it has been ok. I was really tired on day 3 (much more so than usual) and then after that have been ok and then the bad tiredness at the end of the when i was taking tablets and some metallic taste in my mouth towards the end also. So for me, I seem to be tolerating it well. I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first chemo treatment. They gave me anti-sickness tablets and Difflam mouthwash to take home with me and other than the first evening, i haven t needed the anti-sickness tablets and I haven't needed the mouthwash.

I really hope your experience will be the same

    Take care x

Thank you, it’s my mother who’s actually going to have it. She seems to have tolerated all therapies very well

Hi  its my first cycle. Started on Friday.

How are you feeling/felt taking it?

  • I've been fine with it. Just started with the second cycle today. Had strange heart flutters for about an hour after I took it and really itchy eyes tonight.

But my mood is low because I just want to be ok and being OK means not being on chemo.

Has your nausea and diarrhea settled down?

Hi fhgirl, I hear that! I'm in the doldrums too for the same reason. Tummy has settled. Apart from low mood I seem to be ok on this chemo at the moment.

  • Hope we both manage to find some happiness today. Blush

  • I am also on my 2d cycle of Cape, but am feeling exhausted and very nauseous. What is the anti-sickness that they gave you? And do you know which dose of Cape you are on? I started with 1500g, but am now down to 1,125 as I didn't tolerate it well.
