Hi everyone,
My mum has had breast cancer 3 times over the last few years, and unfortunately, they've now found a lesion in her brain that they think has travelled from her breast.
They are looking into the option of surgery or stereotactic radiotherapy, but have said they aren't treating to cure (which I hear is what all stage 4 patients are told).
Has anyone else had experience of this situation? How long mum has of course depends on how she responds to treatment, but I'm just hoping to hear some people's experiences of this kind of radiotherapy, and how effective it could be. I've heard some people can live with a brain tumour for years so staying hopeful. Apparently it's not spread anywhere else which we're taking as a win.

I know I answered your similar post on one of the other forums and recommended you post on the breast cancer forum. I saw one of my colleagues then recommended you post here. I am sorry you are getting a bit of a chase around. I think brain secondaries are quite rare but I see you have a response to your first post from someone who has had treatment for brain mets. I hope that is helpful.
