Hi
I was diagnosed de novo with secondary breast cancer in July. I have mets in my thoracic spine and have had four x four weekly injections of denosumab. I saw the oncology nurse at clinic this week and she said my oncologist wants to move me from 4 weekly to 12 weekly injections of denosumab. I do not want this because it seems strange to change it after such a short time (3 months) and I have not had any scans to show how effective it is. I have asked for clarification behind his recommendation.
If you are on denosumab for bone mets, how often do you have injections?
Thank you.
Hi - I have the denusumbab injection every 6 weeks, I also have the phesgo injection every 3 weeks.
Wonder if it is anything to do with your calcium levels when they do blood test before treatment- I have had 1 demenusab injection stopped when my calcium level was too low - I also take a calcium tablet twice a day.
Every four weeks for me too, with calcium tablets. Bone cancers is said to be stable as a result.
