Hi all,
I wondered if anyone has had low haemoglobin as a result of chemo and if so what they did to help it.
Thank you x
Hi Lolly, my haemoglobin dropped to 65 a year ago so I was given a blood transfusion. Felt much better but I’d didn’t last so had another a month later. After a 3rd my oncologist suggested iron tablets which my GP prescribed. I’ve been taking 2 a day but I’m still anaemic and tired. I’ve recently seen a consultant Gastroenterologist who told me 2 tablets a day was too much so I now take just 1 and I’m having an iron infusion next Wednesday. Hope you get the right treatment for you.
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Its all very hit and miss. Ive just had a call to say im having a blood transfusion next week so fingers crossed .
Take care x
