Hi everyone. I am due to start Capecitabine on Friday. I have trouble swallowing tablets and the pharmacy said I can dissolve them if necessary. Anyone else do this?
Thanks
Hi Cathyg welcome to the forum..it is good to know that this drug can be dissolved as so many different drugs can't. I imagine for someone who has problems swallowing then it's good that they can still get this medication to disperse. I'm sure some of the folks on here will be along soon to offer words of advice but it may be that the dissolving medication is a new way of producing the drug so maybe a few who will have tried this..Best Wishes Gail
I took cape/xeloda for 8 cycles (6 months) 2 years ago as I had residual post my TBNC mastectomy. These tablets can be larger, but there are different mgs/sizes of them. Could you ask the chemist to dispense the smaller tablets to make it easier to swallow (there will be more of them volume wise to make up your required dose, but may make the swallowing easier). Just a thought, Good luck
