I was diagnosed with secondaries in my spine 7 years ago and have been on Anastrazole and alendronic acid. Was told 6 months ago that my cancer was in remission. However, latest scan shows lesion on my liver and am having an MRI on sunday. I already have cirrhosis of the liver and wonder how this will impact. I assume the Anastrazole has now stopped working and wonder what happens in the way of treatment now. I was not offered chemo before - not sure why - and wonder if that is an option. I am really worried as I thought everything was ok with being told was in remission so this is a shock. Is there anyone else who has similar to me?. I would love to hear from you and how long you have had it and the treatment you are having.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

It sounds like you've been through a great deal and it must have been such a shock to discover that you now have lesions on your liver after being told that you had gone into remission.

I don't have the treatment experience that you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll hopefully be seen by someone with the right experience.

Do come back and let us know the results of your MRI.

    Hi Chris PC

I have had secondary bone cancer for the past 5 years and was told it had spread to my liver and pancreas late last year. as with you it was a shock.

I have been having Chemo, and after the liver diagnosis my chemo changed, that one worked on most of the cancer but not m liver, so have recently changed to another chemo type.

When i had my primary cancer diagnosised i was not offered chemo of any type< that remained the case for 20 yrs, so it is not unusual not to be offered Chemo as it depends on you and your diagnoisis.

    I hope this helps,

    all the best
