Hi everyone, I’m hoping to find out if things settle.
I started my first cycle on Thursday and have been in almost constant pain since. Pains are in my lower back/ pelvis going down to my legs.
I am seeing my oncologist tonight for a review.
I would have described my pain on Monday As a 7-8. My husband has been asking me since, “how is your pain now?” To which I reply “4”. I don’t know if it’s me getting used to the pain being there as opposed to it actually lessening.
I don’t want to take paracetamol as it’s harsh on the liver, so taking a low dose codeine with ice packs (more or less continuous as heat seems to make it worse). Pain is not really controlled at all, only managing 2-3 hrs sleep due to pain.
Has anyone experienced this type of pain and does it settle?
I am on 600mg Ribociclib and only had one injection, due the 2nd one next week
Hi LJR
I am one of the Macmillan community champions and whilst I don’t have experience of these drugs, noticed no one has responded yet. I am sorry you are getting so much pain and hope your oncologist is able to provide some answers and support. It’s also worth asking them about the best pain relief. I am not a medical person but I always understood paracetamol was the safest drug to use so long as you don’t exceed the recommended dosage.
