hi
i started chemo last Tuesday and it hasn’t been going too well. I had a reaction to the GCSF ( filgastrim ) injection which meant I ended up in A&E for a while and oncologists have said no more injections. And for the last two days I have been experiencing really significant neuropathy . Well , at least I think it’s that . It’s not in my hands or feet but it’s all over my body and can be light or heavy bursts of electricity . I am going to call my oncologists tomorrow but wondering if others have experienced this and any tips to deal with it . A shower seemed to have made it worse! Thank you
Hi LadyCath
The peripheral neuropathy you can get from some chemo drugs usually starts in toes and fingers. It typically manifests as tingling or woolliness initially and can lead to lack of feeling spreading up along the nerve. The use of peripheral in the name is because it starts at the far end of the nerve.
So what you have doesn’t sound like that. Please do call your oncology help line.
