Hi
i had a lumpectomy February followed by 5 doses of radiotherapy in May finishing on 23 May, have been taking tamoxifen since 26 April.
Felt increasingly unwell last week but put down to radiotherapy side effects and tamoxifen change of brand. Sunday evening hubby noticed I felt very hot and had temp of 39.5.
Sunday evening called 111 and agreed to see GP Monday, bloods done Tuesday but still not sure what going on, GP still trying to sort and get back to me.
breast nurses advised stopping tamoxifen for a week, so stopped that yesterday.
anyone had a similar experience?
getting fed up of feeling ill and just want to feel better now
keep fighting all xxx
Hi Emilia3
A good one to use for radio is aloe vera gel. I bought a specialist radiotherapy gel (cost a fortune) and then found the aloe vera gel in Holland & B seemed to be exactly the same at a fraction of the price!
When you do have radio, to prevent fatigue - drink, drink and drink some more! It really does make a huge difference. 4 of us went for15 sessions (9 years ago), 2 of us drank loads and 2 didn't. The ones who didn't had seriously bad fatigue, whereas I was able to drive myself the 60 mile round trip daily.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
