Can anyone offer me advice or reassurance about taking letrozole prostap and abemaciclib. I had breast cancer and I am now taking these drugs to prevent recurrence I’m so tired every day. I have a young family and I will need to go back to work eventually, does the tiredness lessen as I get used to the drugs. I have been on letrozole for a month but just started abemaciclib. Is there anything I can take to help with the exhaustion. Thanks in advance.
Hi. I was only on Letrozole after my lumpectomy and radiotherapy but couldn't get on with it at all. I'm a lot older than you but was working full time and trying to carry on despite the side effects.
I persevered for 9 months and had awful side effects, fatigue, joint pain, low mood, and it affected my thyroid too. After talking to my oncologist he changed me to Exemestane. I'm better on it but still have joint pain and some fatigue but the fatigue isn't as bad as on Letrozole. I also had a lot of support from the occupational therapist who gave me strategies to help with fatigue.
It's well worth talking to your team and ask for advice and help.
Take care. x
Speak to your breast care nurse. It’s not bee tried or tested by me but I read on here somewhere that Adderall is good for fatigue. Might be something to look forward to.
Hi isn't Adderall an amphetamine? Definitely speak to your team first. Hope you are feeling better soon x

I have no idea. It’s only available in prescription anyway as far as I was aware.
Hi, im on Letrazole and seem to be pretty lucky. I have a bit of hair thinning but after about 2.5 months that seems to be settling down. Oh and intimate dryness. But I haven't suffered fatigue or joint pain (im 65). Just fatigue after the RT which now, 3 weeks later is really subsiding. I have worked throughout x
