Hi
I recently found out I need x 3 rounds of EC and x 3 rounds of Docetaxel followed by 3/4 weeks radio. My worry is my oncotype score came back as 47!!! This has got my mind jumping hoops.
Does this mean I have almost a 50% chance of recurrence? I am so worried.
Anyone had this experience?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi
My oncotype is 45 - so very similar to you.
I think the risk of recurrence is also reduced by dense dose chemotherapy and the follow on treatments. Hopefully Ribocyclin will be approved for node negative high risk people
x
My oncotype was 26 and said on it a 12% risk of distant reoccurrence and I’d benefit from chemo. When we asked the oncologist what that risk would reduce to with chemo she said they didn’t have that data which seems odd and is a bit of a worry as could be making myself ill for nothing! Can only hope it will have an effect together with the various drugs I may take afterwards.
I’m trying not to think about recurrence and just taking whatever treatment they offer but it is interesting to hear what scores other people got. For clarity I had HER2 negative, estrogen positive. It was grade 3. I had 1 out of 3 sentinel nodes affected so had to have axillary node clearance which revealed all 30 odd nodes were clear.
Ihi sparkles, I had ER positive, PR negative & HER2 negative. I also had 7 nodes removed with 6 clear and SLN had 0.7 micromets (tiny microscopic cells)
I am due to start chemo tomorrow , x 3 EC, x3 Docetaxel followed by radio x
Hi Dhill. That’s interesting. Mine was exactly the same! PR negative also.
My treatment plan was 9 weekly sessions of paclitaxal and carboplatin (carboplatin added because I am brca2 positive) followed by 3 three weekly sessions of EC. I have completed 10 sessions and have 2 left. They have mentioned I will need radiotherapy also and have said I am eligible for abemaclib. And maybe something else subject to ovary suppression as apparently some drugs are more effective post menopause (I am 41 so pre menopausal although chemo has stopped my periods).
