Hellooo
Well I had my 1st EC chemo session on 24th April. I thought that I was managing ok.
I had had a severe sharp pain in my tummy on first night.
Then I found difficulty in swallowing so changed diet a bit to soft things.
However I had severe blockage in my systems. After discussion with BCN senna was suggested so took some yesterday.
Suddenly my bathroom and me have a not so loving relationship (I am a regular type and I am used to my usual routines)
I have been absolutely floored today and energy levels are rock bottom.
I have eaten some crackers and drank water which seems to be calming things down but I don't like the swinging of my systems.
Apart from sharp pains in my tummy I haven't actually felt sick and only needed the anti sickness tablets twice.
My dog is fretting because her routine has been thrown out of the window (my daughter has just had a little baby girlie by c section so we are a bit up the creek without a paddle) - my son is busy with farming - life is tough at the moment.
I hope these side effects sort themselves out soon though!
I hope everybody else is ok x
I am sorry you are feeling rough Rusty53x Whilst most people recommend you take the anti sickness meds, my experience was they blocked me up. I find the same thing happens if I am given any sort of opioid medication during or after an operation. Movicol always seems to be required. In the end I started refusing the anti sickness meds they wanted to dispense at the time of the infusion, and didn’t touch the packets they sent me home with. They improved things significantly for me. You just have to find out the right balance for you - we are all different.

Hi, thank you for your suggestions. Yes things definitely started going haywire after AI stopped the 3 days of steroids and had a couple of the anti sickness tablets (as instructed by the nurse who administered the EC on Friday). After the crackers and water things have calmed down but I need to get a bit stronger so I am able to do my house jobs and also take my lovely dog for her walks.
I think I need to ask my GP for the Movicol you mentioned and try that.
Thank you again, take care x
