I was out running last week and fell and fractured my wrist. Currently in a cast. I am due to start 20 daily radiotherapy sessions (post-lumpectomy) on 13 May and am trying to find out whether i will be able to hold the radiotherapy handles. I am waiting for a call back from someone in the rad. unit whose call I missed on Wednesday and who seems hard to get hold of.
Anyone had any experience of radiotherapy with a cast?
There is a risk that the bones aren't well aligned - I find out next Thursday if I need an op., which will happen the next day. I guess that would really affect the start of my radiotherapy and subsequent additional chemo. Anyone got any experience of this?
Thanks.
Hi, oh what a pain that you've fractured your wrist, hope that's not too painful. I think you'll need to ask the team about your specific situation but radiotherapy is very quick, so hopefully you will be able to manage. Best wishes
Thanks for the good wishes. I am awaiting a call back from radiotherapy - I keep being assured the person will ring me back but no sign yet! Was just wondering in the meantime whether this had happened to anyone else.
