Hi,
I have/had triple negative breast cancer and had 10 paclitaxel and 4 Carboplatin and one EC I couldn’t have anymore EC as I had a bad allergic reaction so decided against anymore chemo as I my body was broken, couldn’t hardly walk or anything. Had surgery and they confirmed that they got the tumour out and really good clear margins and no sign of It being anywhere near my lymph nodes. So she said no more cancer left in my body. So I know I need to have radiotherapy. Has anyone had similar and couldn’t roughly tell me how many radiotherapy sessions I may need? I also have in my head that my oncologist is going to make me have more chemo which I don’t know why and I definitely don’t want it.
i feel like I and good results from surgery and should be celebrating but something is holding me back!
This sounds like my journey. Only managed one EC had sepsi and DRESS which they think from immunotherapy so can no longer have that either.
In my head I’m thinking 15 sessions radiotherapy but actually unsure!
the results from surgery are good Iv not had none yet hopefully in n couple of weeks.
i wish you well with your journey
Hi CLK81
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I had radiotherapy for triple negative breast cancer nearly four years ago. I had 15 sessions of radiotherapy and I got on ok with it.
Wishing you the best of luck with your radiotherapy.
Best wishes

Hello,
I have/had TNBC too.
I had 12 weekly pax / 4 carbos and 4 EC. It was a journey shall we say… but I’m here! It shrunk my tumour to about 2cm however it grew again.
I opted for a mastectomy before I knew it was growing.
I have my radiotherapy planning appointment on Friday. My oncologist has recommended 5 sessions to the chest wall and chemo tablets after - because of the original size of tumour before chemo began.
Everyone is different with radio. The same as chemo.
Hopefully you get your oncology appointment soon.
I haven’t celebrated yet. Everyone says I should have done when I got told they got it all… I was recovering from DIEP surgery (this failed also!) though.
Good luck xx
So I got my pathology report and it said that there was 25mm of residual in the tumour which they got out. Very good clear margins and no spread anywhere else. So now I’m thinking that they are going to give me more chemo which I really don’t want. I just want to do the radiotherapy. Is it silly not to have more chemo. I just can’t face it again. I literally got to the point at the end of my last chemo that I didn’t want to be here anymore. I hit rock bottom. Now I’m feeling “normal” again I feel like I’ll go back to rock bottom again if I have to have chemo.
Hi CLK81
After my pathology report, finding some lymph nodes were positive with cancer, they were removed and now I need more chemotherapy. Whilst disappointed, it will be a different type of chemotherapy. I hope it will be kinder to me.
Perhaps you can have a discussion with your oncologist and ask about a different type of chemo. This is just a thought as I read your message.
I don't think you're being silly. You are listening to how you felt and don't want to go back there. You are the only one to make choices for you. You decide on what options there are, what you can take and what the outcomes are likely to be. Big hugs. Sounds like what you need right now.
