I have had tests back stating above just waiting for CT to come back the surgeon told me I have a large mass , diagnosed stage 2 but may change depending on CT results, what does it mean ?

  • Hi JayneMS

Sorry you have to be here, but welcome.

Your diagnosis means that your cancer is highly receptive to the hormone oestrogen and so you will have endocrine therapy after your other treatments (Tamoxifen or other medication depending on whether you have been through the menopause or not). I don’t know much about HER2 as mine was negative too, but understand that if it is positive there are targeted therapies but these would not apply to you. The CT scan will be to see if there is any spread to lymph nodes as this would affect staging and may affect your treatment plan. I am no medical professional, though, this is just my understanding and I would definitely speak to your medical team about your results so that they can explain it all fully to you.

It’s the toughest part at the beginning when you are in the information gathering and testing stage. Things do get easier when you know what is happening and when.

Sending love and best of luck with everything. x

  • Thank you , I have my meeting on 20th to discuss treatment plan   The waiting is quite brutal and traumatic, isn’t it ? I’ve settled more now and realised I have to wait , no point stressing about it all , as I have no control . Just took me a while to get to this point . The people on these forums are very supportive. Thank you again Pray
