Hi all.

I'm trying to find some zip front fastening bras. I'm having surgery on the 19th December to remove 3 cancerous lumps from my right breast and all of my lymph nodes in my armpit.

Does anyone have any suggestions please. I've already bought one from Bravissimo x

  • I was advised that Asda did some. Have to be honest that post surgery I used bralets from Primark for comfort. Further down the line Nicola Jane are fantastic. Good luck with everything.

  • Not zip but front fastening Asda post surgery bras are £16 for 2.  Found them reasonably comfortable.

  • Asda do really pretty zip front  ones (on line only) and extremely comfortable. Xx

  • Hi Sarah, M&S do a couple in their post-surgery bra range and also in the Goodmove range

  • I used the fitting service which does specific post op bras. They are not cheap but I thought well worth it and if you message them they can advise you on the best bra for your surgery (and size). I’ve purchased two from them so far. I had a lumpectomy but with flesh removed from just under the bra line for reconstruction (can’t remember the name…something like aciap flap) and was worried about getting something that wouldn’t rub that area.

  • I think it depends partly on size of your breasts and also surgery. I had lumpectomy and SLNB and found the M&S crop tops very supportive and seams didn’t cut in where my scars are. However I have now had a reexcision and mammoplasty so have a much bigger difference in size and finding these bras are no longer supportive. Somebody on another thread recommended macom medical and I am finding that is working (but they are pricey).

good luck with your op X

  • Hi. My Macmillan has just been in to see before I go down from my op and has recommended these bras from Amazon. They are compression ones so will jiggle afterwards and they will also help with fluid build up.

I should be going to theatre around 1pm today

    xx

  • Good luck with the op. Have had two now in the last 7 weeks. You can totally do this. Sending a hug.

  • Hi there, yes. They also do twin packs of two at asda on line that are like these but with a lace overlay at front. £14 for two in lots of colours.

Good luck with your journey honey xx

  • Hi. I got some brilliant ones from M&S. they are so comfy and supportive. Have a look on their site
