Hi , I’ve just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer following a routine mammogram.
when I had biopsies was told she didn’t think it was sinister and she thought it was lymph nodes they could see . Was totally blindsided when I went for results and they said it was cancer
not sure I’m ready for this rollercoaster but lumpectomy booked for 18th November and they have said chemo and radiotherapy will probably be in the new year. Also talked about genetic testing because of the triple negative breast cancer, just to much to take in
Hi I was diagnosed on the 28th October with the same breast cancer after routine mammogram. I start chemo the 21st of November for 6 months then will have surgery. I still can’t believe the way my life has changed but it’s not going to go away so I have to fight this and you will to. I just try to stay positive but I do have very low days. Am dreading starting chemo but it got to be done xx
I was told I had TNBC at the end of August after finding a lump, the lump measured at 5cm. I’ve since had 8 weeks of weekly chemo and a little bit of immunotherapy, the lump has responded well and are now measuring under 2.5cms! The chemo finishes in February, and then I think it’s going to be an operation and radiotherapy, I must admit I didn’t really listen after the chemo part, one job at time and all that . Chemo has been a rollercoaster, when I have two lots of chemo and the immunotherapy I feel horrific, but when it’s just the pac, chemo it’s not too bad. Just be kind to yourself, rest when you want to rest and if you are able to do what you enjoy, do it! My doctor said that a positive attitude is everything, so in my head I’ve already beaten cancer! The fear for me is it coming back.
Once your treatment starts I found this a positive step, I was finally doing something about the cancer. The fight has started!
Hi Popeye1969
I had the same - mammogram, enlarged lymph nodes that they thought were harmless then TNBC diagnosis in March. Have had chemo and mastectomy and about to start radiotherapy. Path report showed complete response to chemo, so that is great news, but it has been a rollercoaster as you say. Good luck with the surgery and things should start to get better after that.
I'm currently having chemotherapy (half way through) for TNBC - discovered after a mammogram - so caught early, unfortunately TNBC seems to be still chemo x6 and probably radiotherapy afterwards.
I had a lumpectomy first and lymph node out, back in July.
