Hello lovely people!
I am due to have a double mastectomy next week and was wondering where others, that have had their operations, bought their post mastectomy bras from? I know that the hospital provides a bra, but I wanted to purchase another one so that I’d got one to wash, one to wear. Also, do the drain pockets come with the bras or do you have to purchase them separately?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Hi Tommo013,
The hospital usually provides a mastectomy bra, and you can always ask for an extra one – I did this when I had my mastectomy last month. I also bought a couple of front-zip sports bras from Amazon, which I found really comfortable and practical. There are lots of good options on there. For the drains, the hospital bras don’t have pockets, but they do give you little sling bags to carry them in – I was given one after my surgery. Wishing you all the very best for your operation next week. Please let us know how you get on – sending you good wishes and a big hug.
