Hi I was wondering if someone could advise please.

I had a left breast masectomy and a right breast lumpectomy and glands biopsy in January. I have had my Radiotherapy prep plan and tattoos ready.

I had a phone call to say I only need 5 days treatment and that this will start next Thursda, Friday break over weekend and then restart on Monday for the remaining 3 days.

I was under the impression that treatment would be from Monday to Friday consecutive days and am concerned about there being a break in the middle. Could anyone please advise if this is okay.

Hi, yes it's normal to break treatment over the weekend, I did.

Yes it’s normal and it probably helps you to have a couple of days break. Hope it goes well for you.

Hi Double Trouble , another yes from me! I had 3 weeks back in 2019 as that was the norm at that time. I think I started on a Wednesday so had 3 weekend breaks. My understanding is that it’s the cumulative effect that matters (but I’m not a medic) so gaps for weekends and sometimes for illness is all fine. I was glad of the breaks, actually.
