Hi , don’t know if anyone else has experienced the symptoms I have now . I completed a gruelling year of treatment for TNBC in July 2022. I now have persistent pain in my left hip , upper back and a horrible pulsing in my neck . I spoke to my BCN nurse last week who got me an appointment which I attended yesterday . They want to do a full body CT and I was offered an appointment tomorrow but can’t face this before Christmas. Has anyone else experienced similar ? Any help or advice would be great . I had got to the point where I wasn’t thinking about cancer all the time but now I am
Hi Harleybear
I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling with pain at the moment and that you think that your cancer has come back. While the pain you are experiencing may mean that the cancer is back it could also be caused by any number of things.
Easy to say I know but try to take things a day at a time and enjoy Christmas if you can.
Wishing you the best of luck with the scan when you eventually have it and hopefully thing will turn out alright.
Best wishes

Thanks . Not been in here in a long while . Life has not been kind to us since I finished cancer treatment. How are you doing ? X
Hi Harley, something similar here with a list of symptoms including pain in a particular point in the back. Full body scan, two chest CTs and a few other investigtions revealed absolutely nothing oncology-related. I hope your scan gives the same good news. It your scans all come back clear, it may be worth asking if any of the symptoms could be a delayed reaction to past treatment.
Hi Hasrleybear
Sorry to hear that life hasn't been kind since you finished treatment. I'm not doing too badly. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer again in May of this year. It was in my right breast this time and was er and pr positive breast cancer this time. I had an lumpectomy in the middle of May and they discovered cancer in the lymph node that they took. My surgeon sent me for a ct and bone scan and they discovered a small local recurrence of triple negative in my left breast so I had to have further surgery in September again a lumpectomy and lymph node removal in my left arm and complete lymph node removal in my right arm. Three weeks after the op I got an infection and was in hospital for 12 days. I am now undergoing further chemo of which I've had 2 out of 4 cycles.
Hopefully things will turn out all right for you.

Hi thanks for the reassurance. Can I ask where your pain was ? Did it get progressively worse as time went on. How are you doing now . X
The pain is still there, only not all the time. It is just under the level of the shoulder blades, left of the spine. I also have a persistent cough, but my lungs seem fine, or, as someone at the hospital put it, "I'd love to have your set of lungs." They are still investigating, but with all the scans clear, I am now inclined to class this as a nuisance rather than a threat.
I am not sure what the progression was like because there is always some low-grade pain in my surgery scars, my feet (peripheral neuropathy) and there is chronic very mild nausea. It is all relatively mild so it has become more of a "white noise" to me unless something suddenly intensifies. This can happen sometime in any area, and I think that is how I first noticed the back issue.
I really hope you find out soon and that they tell you it is not cancer-related. I am going to keep an eye on this thread in the hope that you will update at some point, and in any case, welcome back, even if only temporarily.
Very sorry to read your post Harleybear such a worry isn’t it, but I hope it all comes to nothing.
I had lumpectomy April and RT July. Have pains at rest in both thighs, rib and pelvis. Started telling them in May and am now having bone scan next week. I don’t know how they decide whether to do CT or bone scans.
Sending a hug your way xx
Hi Harleybear , I went through treatment for TN breast cancer same year as you and was sad to hear you are still having problems .I am also waiting for a scan as also have back pain and a numb leg . So wanted to send you a (((hug))) xx
Thankyou . I had my CT scan today . Now it’s just waiting, in a way I would love them to find something to explain the symptoms I have been experiencing as if nothing is found I am stuck with the pain but no explanation. Painkillers make me feel horrible so avoid aa much as possible . Hope you get your scan soon . Let me know how you get on . Xxxx
Sorry to hear the pain is still there . I think not knowing what is causing it must be awful as then there is nothing for them to treat . Are you just in a position where you have to just live with it all now ? I am also extremely tired and this is the worst part as it took ages for my energy levels to return and I have only had about 4 months feeling normal ish . I had my scan today so it’s now just a waiting game again . Xx
