Hi warriors! A quick turnaround, on Tuesday I was called in to my local hospital for pre-chemo treatment and this morning I’m starting the treatment!  I’m a bit nervous but also looking forward to starting! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever despite the 3 surgeries I’ve had.  I guess because I’ve  been so lucky with healing it has made the waiting too long. I’m just hoping that the chemo won’t disturb my diabetes too much but hey, it’s got be done so I’m gonna have ride on…!

  • Thank you Orchid. It’s such a relief when you start counting down! I’m hoping & praying that I don’t get many side effects

  • Safoma thank you. I will listen to my body definitely.

  • im not going to sugar coat, there is no fun in it, but we all here w you hugs, been there, know the feelings. i had mouth sores, ask for mouthwash, i found a gingivitis one worked best for me, the magic one wasn't very magic. always ask for help whenyou feel like poo

  • No need to sugarcoat; I want to hear all the likelihoods. They’ve sent me home with Laxido and mouthwash so I’m hoping that I’m well equipped Grin. Thank you x

  • All the best, hope it has gone well.  I had my first a week or so ago and due my second this coming week

  • Thanks Anji.  Hit went well but it’s still early days yet for me. How are you getting on? Hope all is good with your treatment. x

  • Hi Neoza Glad it went well for you.  I am told the second is not so easy - but that hopefully will go ahead Friday - and I think I am prepared for  whatever it throws at me.  Although I had a phone call yesterday from the Lab after the blood test, telling me I had a fever, no I have no fever.... well if you develop one, get yourself to hospital.... so that was a bit of a surprise and I learnt something new there....which may help you..... it is possible for infection or fever to kick in and a course of antibiotics must be prescribed....... hopefully it wont delay my chemo, my consultation is Tuesday.  So fingers crossed.

  • Morning Anji! I bet as we go along. The climb gets harder but we can do it.  I will be thinking of you on Tuesday & Friday so fingers crossed for you.
Thank you for tye tips.  Let us know how you get on.  Hope you have a nice Sunday x

  • thank you, you too x

  • Start your mouthwash now before you get sore mouth and don't be shy of using the laxido. I used mouthwash after every meal during my whole chemo and never had any mouth issues. Have they also given you some additional anti thrush meds to take at about day 10? I was.
