Hi everyone
I have had one round of chemo and just finished my self administered injections.
I was doing fine until my last one yesterday. I began to get a pounding lower back pain which I took painkillers for. I hardly slept last night.
Anytime else get similar symptoms? My mind keeps going into spiral worrying that something is terribly wrong x
Oh gosh where do I start. Horrific thrush in my mouth, under boobs, and down below so was on antibiotics for 5 sessions. Felt that I'm whole body was burning. Sickness not to bad. Wasn't able to eat food post chemo due to the thrush only drank cup a soups . Diarrhoea has been awful its been 3 weeks since my last chemo and stomach still not right. X
Oh gosh that’s awful.
As soon as I got home I literally couldn’t stop running to the loo to be sick. It was awful.
I didn’t ring the emergency line as couple of my friends said that it had same effect on them.
Very tired also but felt so poorly and have never felt like that in my life.
48 hours later started to ease. I think the anti sickness meds worked as would probably have been much worse had I not taken them.
I love exercise and felt so tired just walking round the block.
I got excruciating back pain at the end of my first round of injections.Had to take pain killers and have a hot water bottle. Was bad for a few days from memory but the next time around I didn’t get it.I would get aches and pains but nothing like the first time around.Hope you feel better soon.xx
I have had one round of Chemo and did my last filgrastim injection yesterday ( 5 th April 2025 ). I was fine until the evening when I felt like my back had given way when I got up from the sofa. I took two paracetamol before I went to sleep but woke up in the middle of the night in terrible lower back pain and it almost felt like my back was going to give way when I tried to walk to the bathroom. It was only when I googled the effects of the drug that I realised it was a side effect but at the time it was extremely worrying all sorts of things were going through my mind. I do think patients should be given some sort of warning that this might happen and told what to do if it does. I dosed myself with ibuprofen and paracetamol and thankfully the symptoms have now gone.
