I have just had cycle 4 of EC and each time it has got worse. The nausea and fatigue is prolonged each cycle and still feeling awful and it was 6 days ago I had my last treatment.
Has anyone else felt like this? Going onto paxitaxcel in a weeks time but dreading it as this is weekly and not sure if I will be able to cope with it.
So fed up with feeling unwell. Any suggestions
i wish I could help, but can only commiserate, as the fourth cycle did me in, onco delayed the paxitaxcel at least a week because i felt so unwell, high heart rate, feeling weak, but I think i also got an infection as I ended up in Emergency due to high heart rate, high temperature and apparently dehydration.
now on antibiotics, off for new blood test tomorrow and maybe pax but I’m still stressed out about it. tell your dr or nurses exactly how you are feeling, there is no point getting treatment if your body is not capable. hope you feel stringer soon hugs
Hi Boney M
I started my treatment with 3 cycle every 3 weeks of EC and I found the fatigue and not feeling well for the first six days awful. I was glad when I finished it. I am now on my seventh weekly pacitaxel two more weeks left to do, I have found this treatment fine hardly any side affects the only thing I get is shooting pains in my legs and blurred vision. The day l have the treatment I feel tired but after that I am going around as normal.
Hi Boney M
Just to say I felt extremely nauseous on EC and the anti sickness meds didnt seem to help. I was dreading starting the next batch of chemo which in my case was Docetaxol but I actually had no side effects on that. I hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes
Lizzie
Hi Boney M, sorry you are feeling so awful after your 4th EC. I too had EC and to help combat the nausea I was given 3 types of anti sick meds. These I took before chemo and after chemo for three days. One of them I was able to continue with if required. I didn’t wait until I felt nauseous I just took them at regular times. It might be worth speaking to your chemo nurses or oncologist as this is something they should be able to help with and possibly change the anti sick meds or add another one to what you already have. The fatigue unfortunately I don’t think there is much one can do apart from test although I know that doesn’t always help. I did find that sometimes pushing through and going for a short walk helped. I think pax is less harsh on the body so I have my fingers crossed that the nausea and fatigue improve.

I found EC worse than paclitaxel. The brain fog and exhaustion were dreadful, but it lifted hugely within a couple of weeks of finishing EC. I found paclitaxel caused a few aches, and naturally by the end I was tired, but my relief at getting some of my brain back was huge! I hope you find paclitaxel better too.
Thank you. All these comments are making me feel better about the next treatment. I don't think I could take anymore EC.
