Hi I'm about to start my filgrastim injections after my 1st EC cycle.
When is the best time of day to inject so that side effects are more manageable?
Hi Pajr1.
When I had EC and docetaxel earlier this year my chemo nurse advised having the injection just before I got into bed so if I did feel a bit achey it would be overnight. Given I had disturbed sleep anyway with the steroids it was a good plan. Not sure if I noticed side effects from the filgrastim. Hope that helps.
Hi Pajr1, I did my injections early evening too.

Hi
I do mine 10.30 everyday no side effects as yet and im on 3rd cycle
I think you can try it one way one cycle and if it doesn't work then change for the next. The best people to ask would be your chemo nurses.
I found it took a few hours for the side effects to kick in so somewhere around 6pm worked well. I would then take ibuprofen at bedtime (I found paracetamol had no effect on the resulting bone pain).
